BS6 Nissan Kicks launched at Range starting from Rs 9.49 lakh

The BS6-compliant Nissan Kicks has officially gone on sale with prices starting at Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom).With the BS6 update, the Nissan Kicks loses out on a diesel powertrain, but benefits from a turbo-petrol motor. It competes against established rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Renault Duster.

Nissan Kicks entered India in January 2019 with a couple of BS4 engine options.Now this is launches again with a bs6 compliant engine option.

Engine :

The new BS6-compliant, HR13 DDT, 1.3-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-charged, petrol engine that will power the 2020 Nissan Kicks is capable of delivering 156PS and 254NM torque. The motor has been developed by Daimler in alliance with Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi, and makes use of the cylinder coating technology that Nissan GT-R's engine employs. The turbo-petrol engine in the new Nissan Kicks is mated to an automatic X-tronic CVT that also features an 8-step M mode for manual transmission preferences.

Mileage :

The 1.5-liter engine that comes with the kicks manual gearbox has a mileage of 13.9 kilometers per liter. At the same time, the mileage of the 1.3-liter turbo engine is 15.8 kilometers per liter with manual gearbox.

Design :

The SUV has the same design as the BS4 model. The front gets V-shape grille, sleek LED headlamps, faux skid plates on the front bumper. The SUV comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, boomerang shape tail lamps and roof rails.

Color Options - Blade Silver, Night Shade, Bronze Gray, Fire Red, Pearl White and Deep Blue Pearl. SUV will also be available in three dual-tone color options, including Bronze Gray with Amber Orange, Fire Red with Black and Pearl White with Black.

Interior :

Interior is also almost same as BS4 model.It has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and voice recognition system. Kicks get the Nissan Connect Suite, which has over 50 features. Apart from this, the SUV offers features like cruise control, automatic AC, remote engine start, idol start-stop system, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps.

Safety :

Talking about safety, the Nissan Kicks features 4-airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, speed alert system, and reverse camera with 360-degree view.

Nissan is killing Datsun Brand again and plans to cut $2.8B in annual fixed costs

Nissan is planning to cut about 300 billion yen ($2.8 billion) in annual fixed costs and book restructuring charges as the coronavirus pandemic further depresses the automaker’s sales. The automaker will phase out the Datsun brand, shut down one production line in addition to the recently closed operation in Indonesia and reach the reduced spending target this year by cutting marketing, research and other costs in order to hit the reduced spending target which will be outlined as part of a three-year plan announcement on May 28.
