MG Motor India to train 200 students under its Nurture Program

Furthering its commitment to serving the community at large, MG Motor India has announced the MG Nurture Program, a first-of-its-kind student support program that focuses on training students. The initiative will equip around 200 students with a market-focused skill set and make them future-ready.

About The Program:

In these testing and extended lockdown times, MG Motor India’s initiative is aimed at imparting the student community with skills that will enhance their career prospects in future. In return, the carmaker will also benefit from the creative and innovative ideas of the country’s youth. CollegeDekho will provide the ecosystem support for the screening test for MG Nurture program. It will have an industry-first, robotic selection process, assisted by another start-up EvueMe Selection Robot. The program also has a special attraction of providing few scholarships for higher studies.

Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director, MG Motor India, commented, “During these times, the MG Nurture Program enables us to reach out to students and empower them in being future-ready for the market. The program will start from June for a period of eight weeks and we will also look at providing job opportunities to some of the bright students thereafter. The initiative has been launched for giving an immersive learning experience to students and creating a forward-looking talent pool in our country.”

Programs Included:

MG Nurture is the latest initiative in a series of programs that the automaker has undertaken to reinforce its commitment towards society and community. As part of its inclusive philosophy, the ratio of males and females shortlisted will be 50:50 under the program.

MG Bridge, a two-way cross-cultural exchange program between Britain and India was also initiated by the carmaker.

The company recently announced ‘Drive Her Back’, a unique program that enabled experienced and qualified women to return to the workplace with dignity and pride, creating a diverse pool of employees at MG in India

About MG Motor India:

Founded in the UK in 1924, Morris Garages vehicles were world-famous for their sports cars, roadsters, and cabriolet series.

.MG Motor India, often stylized as Morris Garages, is the Indian subsidiary of Chinese automotive giant SAIC Motor Corporation Limited. The subsidiary was setup in the year 2017 however, only began its sales & manufacturing operations in 2019. MG Motor India currently has a network of over 65 showrooms across 50 cities in the country.

MG Motor India has its car manufacturing plant at Halol in Gujarat.The plant has a capacity of 80,000 units per year and was previously owned by General Motors India Private Limited.

Company Aim:

  • MG Motor plans to sell one million cars globally by 2024
  • MG plans to enter up to 100 global markets 
  • As part of the Mission 100 strategy, MG also said it will place greater emphasis on attracting younger buyers to the brand through the adoption of new digital infotainment functions, 5G connectivity features and level three autonomous driving technology
  • Company said,it will offer a “new digital retail experience”. As part of this, MG is preparing to reveal a new logo based on that already depicted in the sketches of its new electric roadster.
